Facebook is not only social networking tool but it is a great marketing tool too. What if you lose your account all of sudden due to any phishing attack? You should take proper measures to secure your account from hackers.  Need to take care on certain aspects:
Never click on suspicious link: Even if they come from a friend or a company you know. This includes links sent on Face book (ex: in a chat or post) and links sent in emails. If one of your friends clicks on spam by accident, that link might be sent to all of their Face book friends. Remember to never download something (ex: a .exe file) if you are not sure.
Never paste unfamiliar text into your address bar: if you don’t know what it is don’t try to paste into your internet address bar it would be created from your account and it would result in malicious scams.
Have a great Password: Using a good password is something that you should do every place you visit on the Internet, not just Facebook. Creating a good password is fairly simple. You want it to be complex enough that it can’t be guessed, yet meaningful enough that you can actually remember it. A good password has at least eight characters, one or more numbers, and at least one special character. Once you select your password need to take certain precaution.
  • Don’t use it for ALL your accounts.
  • Don’t share it with friends.
  • Change it regularly.
Note: Check this article if you need help in creating a strong password for Facebook.
Logging out of face book:  Many people think that if they close the web page or exit the browser that also logs them out of Face book. It doesn’t. The next person who goes to Facebook.com on that computer will find themselves already logged in—to your account and mite misuse your account for any cybercriminal activities.
Add a Security Question: You should add a security question to your account from the Account Settings page. Need to choose a question and answer that you will remember and no one else should be able to answer the question that you choose.  Please note that if you do not see the option to add a security question, this means that there is already a question and answer associated with your account.
Log in at Facebook.com: Make sure that when you access the site, always log in from the facebook.com domain.
Run Anti-Virus Software: If your computer has been infected with a virus or with malware, you will need to run anti-virus software to remove these harmful programs and keep your information secure.
Update your Browser: try to keep your browser and other application up to date for security protection because it simply gives you the warning while navigating into the phishing sites.
Add only known people:  facebook is a social networking so it is always advisable to add people to your friend list whom you know rather than adding strangers to your friends list they keep on sending the spam links.
Create a Secure Email: Make sure that email addresses associated with your account are secure. To ensure security, you should change the password for all of your email accounts and make sure that no two are the same. By varying your passwords, you can greatly decrease your account’s risk of being compromised in the future
