The first difficulty is to build first 1000 visitors and if you get there then to maintain that momentum is the hardest part. In old days, the only choice was to take the slow route:  build links to get search rankings, grow your prominence on forums and many other slow things like that.
But now a days, with the presence of social media sites like Facebook, Twitter and Google+ you can jump start your traffic.There are millions and millions of users on these sites everyday and with the help of that traffic you can build your own traffic.

With Twitter Do Following:

1) After you create your account first of all start following people and other companies already having account.
2) Follow 100 to 200 persons or companies daily.


3) Perform keyword searches on Twitter for keywords related to what you do.
4) Start tweeting about the things related to your company and other trending things. Don’t just tweet about things on your website.
5) After few days you will notice that 20 to 30 percent of the people you follow will follow you back.

3) Start interacting and post stuff on your wall. Like Twitter follow the same idea and post the stuff related to your sector and industry news. The stuff shouldn't be about your company.
4) Try to post things that are short because that will easily target your friends.

5) Do leave comments and like things on your friend’s wall in order to interact with them.
6) Start asking questions from your friends. Post questions related to your company. You will see more engagement and participation from your friends.
7) Now create a Facebook page of your company on and ask your friends to like your page.
8)  After a week of engaging more heavily on Facebook you should start seeing more friend requests. Don’t ignore friend requests of people you don’t know, accept them as they could be a reader on your site.
9) Also keep in mind that you are posting only 40% of the things related to your website on your wall. Don’t sell your product, only do soft pitches.
10) Side by Side keep posting most of the things on your Facebook page that you created.
Social media provides you most of the traffic in starting days and prove helpful to you. After making your presence on Twitter and Facebook for a month  it shouldn't be hard to get at least a few thousand visitors to your website just from these two traffic sources. Social media will not prove a rocket for you. It all depends on you how you fit social media into your overall traffic strategy.

This method will not provide you traffic in long run but with social media help you can get at least 20-30% of permanent readers. All what matters in long run is the quality of content and traffic. Good quality of content can provide you some permanent readers to your site. Also focus on search traffic because search traffic is best in long run. So first focus on quality of content and then promote your company.
