According to the latest report by Sammobile, Samsung is working on a real Octa Core processor for their upcoming Android Phones. We have seen that this year as Samsung's Galaxy S4 which was said to work on Octa core didn't created much buzz like S2 and S3 did.
The reason is that only four cores work at a time phone switches to Highly clocked four cores when it needs high power and graphics while when phone does not need much power and is on power saving mode phone switches to lower four cores.
Also recently MediaTek showed their true Octa Core processor by using big.LITTLE MP architecture while Samsung used big.LITTLE configuration. MP in mediaTek's processor means multi-processing. The core allows both low and high-power cores to work at once.
But for all these you will have to wait for a year atleast as all this is under development Right now.
