Earlier: About a month after the first attempt failed, BlackBerry is finally going to officially start the roll-out of BlackBerry Messenger for Android and iOS on respective app stores from today. The application will be up on Google Play Store in the next few hours, and you will be able to download it, but you won't be able to actually use it. The BBM for Android will be free for download.

The unreleased version of the BBM for Android app which was posted online few weeks ago was reportedly been installed by over 1.1 million people, which caused severe server issues and technical problems, so this time BlackBerry has come up with a back-up plan.

BlackBerry notes that, in order to control the number of users, they are implementing a simple line-up system to ensure a smooth roll out.

You will be able to download the BBM app instantly, but you won't be able to use it right away. You will need to enter your email address to get in the queue to use BlackBerry Messenger and when the time has come for you to start using the app, BlackBerry will let you know.

And all those who have signed up on the BBM website beforehand will be able to log in and use the app immediately.
